New legislation implemented in January 2015 categorizes fluorescent lighting tubes as hazardous waste. This designation is due to the presence of mercury in these lamps, with each tube containing enough mercury to contaminate up to 30,000 liters of water, rendering it unsafe for consumption.
However, nearly all components of a fluorescent tube can be recycled. This is where our lamp coffins are commonly utilized by businesses.
